About
Tested in schools since 2004, Report Card Pro allows teachers to create, edit and print report cards using a personal computer. It automates and short-cuts repetitive and predictable tasks, saving time and increasing productivity.
Report Card Pro works with both Windows and Macintosh computers. The document created by Report Card Pro may be moved back and forth between all supported operating systems.
We customize Report Card Pro's document layout and functionality to your school district's specifications. There are no limitations to the number of copies you may make or restrictions as to where the copies should be installed. Teachers may load the application wherever is convenient. And because it is custom, everything looks and works exactly the way you want.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Does Report Card Pro have an integrated grade book?
Report Card Pro is not a grade book program. It can import grades that are exported from other third-party grade books. This import structure is tailored to your specific needs.
2. Is Report Card Pro a good solution for a High School?
Report Card Pro is designed to be used by teachers with self contained classrooms or specialists who issue their own unique report card to each student. For most high school and middle school situations where reports contain the combined grades of several teachers, Report Card Pro would not be an appropriate solution.
3. What if we need to make changes later? How hard is this and would there be an additional charge?
Assuming the changes didn't require an entirely new layout, we will do a one-time alteration at no extra cost. Additional changes would incur a fee. Most changes can be easily delivered to teachers through Report Card Pro's automatic updating feature.
4. Is Report Card Pro an internet application?
Report Card Pro is not web based nor does it store the student report data from multiple teachers in a centralized database. It is a local application that saves a document onto a local drive where this document may be opened and edited again later. The document could be saved to and used from a network server assuming that the local computer was able to mount the network server as a shared drive. Report Card Pro does contain a few non-essential features, like the ability to update itself, which use an internet connection. However, the primary features such as the creation, editing and printing of report cards does not require any network connection.
5. Can teachers access Report Card Pro from home?
Teachers may use it from home or anywhere they have computer access. The Report Card Pro application can be installed onto as many computers as you like: classroom machines, labs, teacher's home computers, aunt Edina's... wherever. The installer for your custom version may be download from elementarysoftware.com or alternately, your tech folks might choose to set it up for download off your own web servers. The installer is small and can be easily copied to a CD or flash memory drive for installing onto computers without internet access. Once the application is installed on their computer a teacher only needs access to their own student data document. For teachers using multiple computers such as at home and at work, the student data document could be carried back and forth on a flash memory drive or sent as an email attachment.
6. What does it cost?
Cost varies depending on the number of report card forms that the application needs to create, their complexity and the number of languages that the reports need to be translated into. A build that included some half dozen report forms and was not translated into any language (other than English) might incur a cost of a few thousand dollars. The school district may then make an unlimited number of copies for any and all of the supported operating systems. We have, however, offered the service for considerably less. It is dependent on the exact nature of the job. The cost of building custom applications can be prohibitive for single schools and smaller school districts given the cost per teacher ratio. Fortunately, the process is flexible and several things may be looked at to lower costs. If the timeline for completion is generous or if the report form layout closely resemble one of our stock versions then the cost might be significantly reduced. The cost of adding translations can also be reduced if the school is able to provide their own translation work. (Translations may also be added at a later date.)
Let us know how many different report forms you require. Then send us a copy of a report card (template, .pdf, scanned image...) and we would be happy to provide you with a quote.
