About
Invented by the Cambridge University (now at Princeton) mathematics professor John Conway. His "rules" were first published in the October 1970 issue of Scientific American. Life is likely the most frequently programmed computer game.
What does our application have to recommend it (besides being free)... a nice icon. Okay, it does allows you to set up cells and then watch what happens as they follow the rules of the game through multiple generations. And there are a few built in designs as well as the ability to save and reload your own. But this was one of our earlier programming exercises... and it looks the part! If you find this application interesting then do yourself a favor and search out one of the (numerous) more sophisticated Life programs.
